Build a funnel

You will create a funnel of two parts — a quiz with questions and a paywall (in the cabinet it is called “Paywall”) — and build both in the editor.

Before you start

Step 1. Create a funnel

The funnel goes into the project whose name is shown top left, in the cabinet header, next to the folder icon. If another project is there, click the name and choose the right one.

Open the “Funnels” section in the left menu and choose the “Funnels” tab in it. The “New funnel” button opens a step-by-step window: “Quiz”, “Paywall”, “Domain”, “Publishing”.

  1. Enter the funnel name, keep “Create a new quiz” selected and click “Create funnel”. The funnel and an empty quiz appear at once.
  2. On the “Paywall” step, choose “Create a new paywall” and click “Next” — it is also created empty. The default is “No paywall (quiz only)”: with it the funnel collects only leads and has nothing to take money with.
  3. Pass the “Domain” step with the “Next” button: there is nothing to publish yet; about the domain, see Publish a funnel.
  4. On the “Publishing” step, click “Create funnel” again. The funnel stays a draft.

In the list, the funnel's “Contents” column shows two tags, “quiz” and “paywall”; clicking a tag opens that part in the editor.

Step 2. Fill the quiz

The editor has three zones: the funnel content on the left, a phone with a preview in the middle, the properties of the selected item on the right. What each zone holds and how to undo an edit — Working in the editor.

A screen is one step the visitor sees. On the “Layers” tab, click “Add screen”, then go to the “Blocks” tab and click the type you need — it goes into the selected screen.

Questions are in the “Questions” group — “Single choice”, “Multiple choice”, “Image choice” — and the visitor's email is collected by the “Email” block from the “Lead capture” group. What each block does and when to use it — in the Editor blocks section, organized by the same groups as the palette.

Enter the question text and answer options in the right panel: it opens as soon as a block is selected. The order of screens and blocks is changed by dragging in “Layers”, and anything extra is removed there too. Edits save themselves; you do not have to click “Save draft”.

If the answer should change the path

Open “Logic” in the top bar. A rule reads as “if the answer is this — go to that screen”. On a screen the first matching rule fires, and the order is changed by dragging. Conditions by country, device and ad tag, showing individual blocks and checking rules — Logic: transitions and element display.

Step 3. Build the paywall

The “Quiz | Paywall” switcher in the editor header leads to the second part of the same funnel. It is built the same way, from screens and blocks, but the blocks come from the “Payment” group: “Price block” shows the amount, “Plan selector” lets the visitor choose from several, “Buy button” sends them to payment.

Which blocks take money and which only display it — Prices and payment in the blocks section.

Every money block needs a price — it is chosen in the right panel. Until a price is chosen, the top bar shows a “Without a price” counter: clicking it leads to the first such block. Where prices come from — Pricing and payments.

An empty quiz or an empty paywall — without a single block — cannot be published: the cabinet will refuse.

Step 4. Go through the funnel as a visitor

In the funnel list, click ⋮ in the funnel's row and choose “Preview”. The whole draft opens in a new tab: the quiz, and after the last question — the paywall. Only your team sees it; no domain or publishing is needed for this.

The preview button in the editor's top bar (labeled “Preview”) shows only the open part. For a quiz, after the last question there will be a “Thank you!” screen, not prices — this is not a fault.

A published funnel has one address for both parts: after the last quiz question the visitor sees the paywall at the same address.
