Plan and limits
Subster has two accounts, and they do not replace each other.
The plan is a subscription you pay by card. It opens capabilities: publishing, domains, the connection to the app.
The wallet is the organization's prepaid account, shared by all its projects. It pays for spending: buying and renewing a domain, AI generation of funnels and images, analysis of an app by its link, translations.
A full wallet does not renew the subscription, and a paid subscription does not buy a domain. Both are managed by the organization owner and the organization admins the owner admits to money — the owner decides whom: Project and team. Everyone else sees only the wallet balance; the plan and the operation history are hidden.
A project Member can spend credits too: AI generation and buying and renewing project domains.
What the plan opens
| For the whole organization | Free | Pro | Business |
|---|---|---|---|
| Projects | 1 | 5 | unlimited |
| Funnels | 1 quiz or 1 paywall — no pair can be built | up to 50 quizzes and 50 paywalls; the plan window wrongly says “Unlimited” here | unlimited |
| Funnel publishing | — | yes | yes |
| Domains | — | yes | yes |
| Connection to the app | — | yes | yes |
| A/B tests | — | yes | yes |
| App analysis by its app store link | — | yes | yes |
| “Pro” mode in AI generation (own design and images) | — | yes | yes |
| Attach a sample (screenshot, PDF) to a chat edit | — | yes | yes |
| Quiz starts per month | 1,000 | 50,000 | 500,000 |
| Credit grant | limited | 3,000 Cr | 12,000 Cr |
If the project has “On your own” selected, it has no funnels or paywalls, and quizzes use up the “Funnels” row.
The funnel limit counts funnels already created, not those being generated. So at the very edge of the plan, AI generation may finish while the “Create” button refuses: there is nowhere to save. Its credits return to the wallet by themselves, and it leaves the “The funnel is ready” banner so as not to lead you back into the same refusal.
How to take out, change and cancel a plan
The plan is managed in the “Balance & plan” section. It appears in the menu when “Entire organization” is selected in the cabinet header instead of a project. A click on the wallet balance in the top right also leads there.
Take out. Click “Upgrade the plan” — the “Choose a plan” window shows the Pro and Business prices. The “Switch to Pro” or “Switch to Business” button opens the Stripe payment page.
The first Pro subscription comes with a trial week. A card is needed at once, but nothing is charged for seven days, and 500 Cr arrive in the wallet. It is given once per account, Business does not have it, and a domain cannot be bought during it.
Change the plan or card, download an invoice. The “Manage the subscription” button opens the Stripe page of your Subster subscription. With a subscription already in place, choose another plan there, not in “Choose a plan”: Stripe will recalculate the paid remainder.
Cancel. Also in “Manage the subscription”; it takes effect at the end of the paid period. Until that date the plan works, and the plan card says “The subscription will be canceled on” with the date. On that day the plan becomes free: domains freeze, and funnels stop opening for visitors — as with non-payment, details in the last section.
Where credits come from and where they go
One credit (Cr) is one cent. The wallet is topped up by three grants:
- welcome grant — 300 Cr once per account;
- trial week grant — 500 Cr;
- plan grant — arrives with every paid invoice.
Credit packages are not available yet: you cannot buy credits beyond the grants.
The plan grant burns out at the end of the paid period and does not carry over to the next one; the welcome grant and the trial week grant never expire. The terms are shown under the “Lot breakdown” line.
The wallet balance is shown in the cabinet header on the right, in dollars: $3.00 is 300 Cr. Every credit and debit is in “Transaction history” at the bottom of “Balance & plan”, filterable by dates and type.
A chat edit in the editor is priced differently. A small step costs a fixed rate per turn, shown right under the input field. A big step is charged as used: as much as the turn actually cost. Under the field it says “about ~N cr. · charged as used” — this is not a ceiling, a big turn may come out more expensive.
A turn counts as big in three cases:
- a sample is attached to it — a screenshot or PDF;
- the task names several actions;
- the turn continues work from a sample. A short “yes”, “go on” or an answer to the chat's question about the size of the storyline is also a big turn: the chat builds screens from your sample, and the price is counted as used.
The caption under the input field shows which step it is before sending — check it before pressing “send”.
On the free plan, the paper clip in the edit chat is locked: the hint next to it says that attaching samples is available on the Pro plan.
If a turn does not start at once. Slots for simultaneous chat edits across the platform are few, and at peak hours a turn first waits in a queue. Then the field shows “The turn is waiting its turn in the queue...” (or “N ahead of it”, if the queue named a place), and “Applying the edits...” appears when the turn is actually taken up. No credits are charged for the waiting time.
If credits run out
A paid operation without credits does not start at all — not halfway, not on credit. Generation, images, chat edits and AI translation, app analysis by link and domain purchase will not start. Manual editing in the editor and published funnels work as usual.
New credits come with the plan grant when the next invoice is paid: its date is shown by the “Renews on” line on the plan card. If the invoice is far off, write to [email protected]: support can add credits by hand. On the free plan there are no invoices, so only support remains.
Renewal of a bought domain is also paid in credits: without them auto-renewal fails, and you will have to renew the domain by hand once credits appear — Domains.
Organization debt
The wallet goes below zero in one case — if AI work has already started: generation, edits and translation are charged as used. At minus 400 credits the organization is blocked: new paid operations do not start, and the funnels of all its projects are not published and stop opening for visitors.
The block is lifted by incoming credits — the same way: the grant with the next paid plan invoice, or credits added by support.
Quiz starts: a limit that does not switch the funnel off
Going over the monthly limit neither stops the funnel nor cuts off visitors — it becomes an extra charge: 2 dollars for every thousand over the limit on Pro, 1 dollar on Business. The sum goes into the next plan invoice, and an email arrives about it. On the free plan there is no extra charge: a thousand starts there is a guide, not a money counter.
Usage is in the “Quiz starts (month)” line of “Balance & plan”; with overage, the expected sum appears next to it.
What happens if a payment fails
From the day a payment fails, you have seven days — this is the grace period.
- At once. The subscription is marked “Past due”, an email arrives, and we try to charge again. Replace the card with the “Update the card” button on the plan card. Published pages work, and the app gets answers as usual.
- The whole week. The period is covered by credits if you turn on the “Pay for the plan from the balance if the card is declined” switch on the plan card — it is off by default.
- After seven days. The plan becomes free. The domains of the whole organization freeze, funnels stop opening for visitors, and everything above the free limit is locked read-only — the oldest stays working. The connection to the app closes at the same time, but access keys are not revoked: you will not have to redo the integration later.
Funnels and quizzes do not disappear: pay for the subscription — domains become active again, and the locks lift by themselves. But a domain that has stayed frozen for more than a month is lost: a bought name goes back on open sale, and your own one will have to be connected anew. Emails about this arrive a week and a day before.
A bought domain can be lost before the end of that month too — if its paid year ends in that time: while domains are frozen, auto-renewal does not work. Details — Domains.
