Logic: transitions and element display
Route a visitor by their answer and show a block only to those who need it — the first rule takes 5–10 minutes.
Open the “Logic” window
Open the quiz or paywall and click “Logic” in the top bar. The “Navigation and visibility logic” window opens on the right.
Quiz and paywall rules are separate. The window says “Rules of the current screen” but shows all rules of the quiz (or paywall), and card headings are technical codes — find a rule by its “Screen:” field.
For a “Single choice” question, set the screen on the option itself — “After this answer”, see Quiz questions. “Logic” is for multiple answers or conditions, paths by ad, country or phone, or blocks not for everyone.
Send to a screen by answer
Example: a fitness quiz. Screen 2 asks “What do you want to improve?” with multiple answers: “Weight”, “Sleep”, “Energy”. Screen 3 asks target weight — only for those who picked “Weight”.
- Click “Add a rule”. “Trigger:” already says “Screen” — the rule type, “leave a screen”.
- In “Screen:” below, pick the screen to leave — screen 2; the first is default.
- In “If:” click “Condition”. Change the first list from “URL parameter” to “Answer to a question”, then pick “What do you want to improve?”, operator “option not chosen”, option “Weight”.
- In “Action:” keep “Go to a screen”; in “Target screen” pick screen 4.
Others go from screen 2 straight to 4; weight-pickers to 3 in order. The rule fires when the visitor leaves the screen.
Show or hide an element
The quiz's last screen has a “Testimonials” block with a weight-loss story. Show it only to those who picked “Weight”.
- Click “Add a rule”; in “Trigger:” switch “Screen” to “Element”.
- In “Element:” pick the block, labelled by screen name and English type name —
testimonialshere. - Add a condition: “Answer to a question”, “What do you want to improve?”, “option chosen”, “Weight”.
- In “Action:” keep “Show an element”.
“Show an element” shows the block only to those matching; “Hide an element” hides it from them and shows it to everyone else.
What else can be a condition
| Condition | What to pick or enter |
|---|---|
| “Answer to a question” | the question and answer option; scales and number questions have > and < comparisons. The product does not score answers |
| “URL parameter” | the tag name from the ad link, for example utm_source, and its value, for example tiktok |
| “Country (Geo)” | a two-letter country code: US, DE |
| “Device OS” | iPhone — ios, Android — android, computer — other |
| “Browser” | safari, chrome, in-app browsers instagram, facebook, tiktok; others — other |
| “Payment method” | the “option chosen” operator and “Apple Pay” or “Google Pay” in the list — whether the visitor has that wallet |
Case does not matter. “is one of” takes several values: enter each and press Enter.
An undetected country counts as not met. Choose “True — met” in the next field if such visitors should fall under the rule — say, when it hides a block from one country.
The “Variable” condition does not fire for now, even with a variable name set on a question — use “Answer to a question” instead. Paywall rules offer its own questions only, not the quiz's.
“All” and “Any”
The “If:” switch sets how conditions combine: “All” — every one, “Any” — one is enough. “Group” adds a nested group: “weight AND (TikTok OR Instagram)”. Up to 10 conditions and three group levels per rule.
Which actions exist
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| “Go to a screen” | the visitor goes to the selected screen |
| “Go to a result” | to the screen from the “Result screen (optional)” field; empty — to the first screen with a “Result screen” block, or without one, to the last |
| “Start over” | answers are erased, the visitor returns to the first screen |
| “Go to a URL” | the visitor goes to your address; campaign tags and answers are inserted as in the “Link button” |
| “Show an element”, “Hide an element” | only with the “Element” trigger |
When rules conflict
- Several rules on one screen or block — the topmost match fires. Drag cards to reorder.
- A rule without conditions never fires — the card warns about it.
- If a rule's target screen is deleted, the card turns red with “Broken link”; meanwhile the visitor goes to the next screen in order.
- The editor does not catch rule loops. Live, after a few dozen transitions the quiz ends itself: the visitor sees the paywall, or else “Thank you!”.
Check the logic
The center preview runs no transitions: you pick the screen. A block with “Show an element” may be hidden there — select it in “Layers”.
Walk the path as a visitor:
- In the funnel list click ⋮ in the row → “Preview”. The draft opens in a new tab with rules working.
- To test a link tag, append it to the address, e.g.
&utm_source=tiktok, and reload. - Preview has no country and detects no payment method — test such rules on the published page.
The published page remembers progress for a day and resumes there — use an incognito window for a clean run. Changed rules go live after republishing: Publish a funnel.
How a visitor moves through steps: “Next”, “Back” and progress
- Forward — the “Next button” or auto-advance after an answer, enabled in the question panel; “Multiple choice” lacks it.
- Where to, in priority order: a “Logic” rule, the option's “After this answer”, the “Next button” field “The button leads to”, the next screen in order.
- “← Back” in the header returns to the screen the visitor came from, not the previous in the list. Absent on the first screen of the quiz and paywall; it has no switch, and quizzes styled “Cinematic photo” or “Magazine” lack it entirely.
- The browser back button never returns to the previous question. The first press follows “Return from an external page” (funnel list, row ⋮ menu): by default the app store for their phone; on a computer or without store links in project settings they stay put. Your own address can be set there.
- Progress in the quiz header follows the visitor's own path: “Step 3 of 7” or a bar, per style. No editor switch; “Cinematic photo” and “Magazine” draw none. The “Progress bar” block never shows in a quiz, even in those styles.
